KISS the CHEF

Lea hosted the first KISS the CHEF event in downtown Atlanta in 2005 before an audience of 10 chefs and 100 guests. Years later, this fun-filled activity is yet another way for those who are new to Atlanta to meet and greet local chefs and professionals in the culinary arena. This is a tasting event. Here you will actually learn how to cook new recipes for your family and friends while enjoying some of the finest foods prepared by Atlanta's own top chefs. Come not only for the food and wine but also to enjoy some cool jazz. The Atlanta History Center has partnered with WELCOME Magazine to present the next event.

Pecan Crusted Shrimp Cocktail

from Chef Tony Morrow of the Pecan Restaurant- College Park, Georgia

Shrimp – 1 bag of 16-20
Panko (2 cup)
Flour (2 cup)
Salt to taste
Egg whites (4 eggs white)
Chop pecan (1 cup)

Lightly salt the shrimp, chop pecans until semi-fine,
add to the panko, and use the breading procedures.

Pecan Shrimp Cocktail Sauce

1 jar orange marmalade
1 cup of orange juice
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp mustard
1 bag of shredded Cole slaw
1 ½ bag of red cabbage

Into a small pot add orange marmalade, orange juice,
crushed peppers, mustard and cook until it comes to a boil.
Cool down. Place into a container for further use.
